Curry Health Center invites applications for an Administrative Associate III to join their team. One of the most visible positions within Curry Health Center is that of the medical receptionist. The receptionist is the first point of contact for our patients whether in person or over the phone. Our medical receptionists have the opportunity to positively impact a student’s career as well as contribute to their overall success as a UM student. Patient interactions may include: greeting patients; scheduling appointments; ensuring they are able to talk with the appropriate health care professional; and assisting students with registration by walking them through the process to lift their health hold.
In this position you will:
- Provide an excellent customer service experience for UM students
- Help students understand how to comply with the health hold
- Help UM students take charge of their own medical care from scheduling appointments to how payment for services is processed to navigating their own health portal
Medical receptionists will need to have the ability to:
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Disseminate information to a diverse population clearly and concisely
- Navigate electronic health information software
- Learn new software to manage student information
- Work well in a team and independently

What you need to be successful in this position:
- A high school diploma and 1 year of working in a medical reception capacity
- Training will be provide once hired to ensure you are successful in your position
- Associates degree in the medical field, prefer degree in Medical Information Technology or Health Information Technology
- Ability to work within the electronic health record (EHR) including knowledge of medical charting via EHR
- Understand privacy and confidentiality of patients per HIPAA (Health Information Privacy)

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year.
Salary: $14.605/hr
Union Affiliation: FOCUS-MFPE
Probationary Period: Six months minimum
