Position Summary:
The Lionel Hampton School of Music is now accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Voice, a tenure-track appointment beginning August 2022. Responsibilities include: Teaching undergraduate and graduate studio voice; teaching opera workshop; teaching other voice-related courses to be determined by applicant’s qualifications and departmental needs; performing in local, regional, and national settings; actively recruiting and retaining students; participating in outreach including clinics and master classes in regional schools; participating in committees; and advising.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Doctorate in Music
• Record of success as a voice teacher at the collegiate level
• Evidence of performance ability at a professional level
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to teach other courses depending on candidate’s experience and needs of the department
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain students
• Ability to interact effectively with colleagues
• Experience in teaching Opera Workshop
• Keyboard skills
