Pay Range: $54,365 or higher depending on experience

Position Summary:
The Assistant Director, Campus & Event Safety/Security has a dual reporting line to the Director of Administrative Operations and the Executive Director of Public Safety & Security. This position is responsible for implementing university and department policies and procedures directly related to safely operating multi-use facilities on a day to day and event operations basis as well as providing safety & security services to the university campus community. This position strives to continuously seek opportunities for improvement related to campus safety & security. Work schedule - Monday through Friday (may vary weekly due to major events).
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Safety and security operations and best practices.
- Event security screening practices (i.e., metal detection, clear bag screening, etc.)
- Safety and security needs based upon potential safety and security risk factors.
2 years experience:
- Working collaboratively with a multitude of stake holders with conflicting interests and goals.
- Establishing, documenting and implementing training programs and policy/procedure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in public safety, organizational training/leadership, etc.
- Experience operating, programing and maintaining metal detectors.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and/or otherwise move items weighing approximately 50 lbs.
- Bending, stooping, shoveling, and comfortable working at
significant heights.
Required Licensures, Certifications or other
- Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed to meet business needs of the office.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet the University of Idaho’s driving requirements
