Successful candidates will have a strong interest in teaching courses in the first and second year of the engineering curriculum and will join a team that is responsible for the First-year and Sophomore Engineering Clinic courses. The Engineering Clinic Sequence is the hallmark of Rowan’s innovative undergraduate engineering program and features multidisciplinary, hands-on, project-oriented courses. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative projects and pedagogies in an environment where excellence in teaching is needed and valued. The successful candidate must be committed to working with students from diverse backgrounds including women, students of color, LGBTQ+ students, first generation college students, students with disabilities, socioeconomically disadvantaged students, and veterans.

We seek outstanding candidates who have a minimum of a Master’s degree in an engineering discipline. Applicants must also hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited program (or equivalent). Industrial or other professional experience, while not required, would be very valuable. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to teach in a hands-on, project and problem-based learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in high-quality, learner-centered instruction in introductory undergraduate engineering courses (e.g., First-year and Sophomore Engineering Clinics)
  • Participate in department and college activities
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive environment
About the Department of Experiential Engineering Education:

ExEEd was launched to catalyze the translation of educational innovations into the classroom, cultivate a collaborative environment for engineering education research, and to lead the College’s undergraduate engineering educational mission for first and second year students in all engineering disciplines.
