eLearning Producer

The Department of Teaching and Learning is seeking an eLearning Producer (Multimedia Production Coordinator) who will provide conceptual, analytical, creative, technical, and editorial input, through graphic design, interactive project development and in the development of video productions as well as related written materials, to support development of educational content for courses. The eLearning Producer will help maintain all standards for production quality, instructional quality, brand alignment, and accessibility adherence.

This individual will have a proven record of acting in an assistant producing, directing, and, supporting the creation of broadcast-quality multimedia productions. The successful candidate must be extremely organized, creative, capable of leading tasks from planning to completion, and able to work with a multitude of personalities and topics, ranging from individual, personal stories to complex research subjects.

NOTE: Candidates for this position should be prepared to provide a portfolio of work as a part of the interview process.

NOTE: This position may work remotely. May be required to be on-site at the Harbor East or DC campus up to 40% of the time.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Course Media Production [65%]

  • Communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Participate and oversee work on-set as required.
  • Prepare and deliver production reports, manage pre-production schedules for Subject Matter Expert and design teams, and assist in the tracking of project needs.
  • Collaborate with other eLearning Producers and media supervisors to balance full time artists’ production focus across all concurrent projects. Advocate for additional resources as needed.
  • Set and maintain production schedules as well as creatively troubleshoot delays in production standards to deliver projects that meet our timeline and quality standards.
  • Guide non –media stakeholders through all stages of production by developing deliverables, setting micro timelines and holding them accountable to delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate to complete pre-production tasks which can include: developing scripts, editing power point presentations for brand standards and accessibility.
  • Review all media content to ensure content adheres to Carey’s strategic vision for: brand, quality, accessibility.
  • Assist in planning all aspects of production shoots – i.e. book studio, locations, send calendar invites to stakeholders, coordinate recordings with external talent, etc.
  • Order and prepare pre-production materials and other necessary items for shoot days.
  • Ensure all archival processes are followed to close out a project.
  • Place requests for external contract work needed to complete course media projects.
  • Manage expectations of non- media stakeholders with shifting media production capabilities.


Media Management [15%]

  • Ensure all produced content and project files are archived in accordance with our policies.
  • Manage access and use of all media resources across projects. Resources may include: stock photo download limits, stock music, etc.
  • Oversee all media content in the Learning Management System aligns with Carey standards for quality, brand, and accessibility.
  • Troubleshoot issues with media in existing courses.

Quality Assurance of 3rd Party Developers [10%]

  • Coordinate with 3rd Party Developers as needed.
  • Reviews 3rd party content for quality and consistency as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned [10%]

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years’ experience in video production management and graphic design.
  • Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills.
  • Specific knowledge of documentary filming and lighting techniques and Adobe Premiere and Photoshop is required.
  • Knowledge of digital file formats and a comprehensive knowledge of graphic design principles and production methods are also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years’ experience coordinating video production and graphic design production.
  • Strong background operating as a liaison between production teams and non- media stakeholders where you have to manage expectations.
  • Experience communicating across multiple platforms with different stakeholders: email, direct chat, project management software.
  • Experience project management software (Asana preferred).
  • Experience developing media for online learning preferred but not required.

  • Must be versatile, creative, and highly productive.
  • Ability to organize workflow, set priorities.
  • Able to work independently and cooperatively with others and managing multiple projects at once with minimal supervision.

Starting Salary Range: $43,970 - $60,390 annually (commensurate with experience)
Employee group: Full Time
Schedule: Monday -Friday 8:30-5 with some evenings and weekends to support production schedule
