Information Technology Coordinator - Division/College



Job Summary: The Coordinator Information Technology – Division or College is responsible for supporting technology by consulting with faculty to interpret business needs, coordinating with College/Division and Information Technology to identify technology solutions, providing project management for implementation of solutions, providing oversight of solutions for the long term support, documentation, maintenance and budgeting of IT systems. Duties & Essential Job Functions: 1. Supports assigned College/Division by residing in College/Division office space, attending staff meetings, proactively developing relationships with College/Division management and department managers/Faculty to understand business needs and goals of assigned areas, identifying technology to achieve goals, serving as champion and advocate for technology, assuming primary responsibility for documentation and planning for IT systems, providing technical support or facilitating support from central IT.
2. Supports Information Technology by attending staff meetings and internal training to learn policies and standard operating procedures, gaining technical knowledge by participating in the Customer Services/Information Commons team, facilitating communication between College/Division and IT regarding technology, ensuring proper documentation, inventory, budgeting, maintenance, and support of IT systems.
3. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience : • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in work experience.
• 3 years’ in the various functions of information technology (networking, systems, security, etc.) in a medium to enterprise environment, managing and coordination IT projects. Preferred Education & Experience: • None Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.
• Relevant technology certification, project management certification, business management certification, or relevant advance degree. Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training: • None Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of various IT functions.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and budget analysis.
• Knowledge of technical requirements of IT solutions.
• Knowledge of IT systems applicable to the College/Division or demonstrated career experience learning new technologies.
• Knowledge of customer service techniques.
• Ability to facilitate communication among departments, build trust, and develop relationships with faculty and IT staff.
• Ability to support the academic mission.
• Ability to interpret business needs and identify technology solutions.
• Ability to coordinate and manage the implantation of IT solutions. Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations): • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs. Work Environment: • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
