Data Control Specialist



Job Summary: The Data Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining department databases by organizing, inputting and extracting data to support primary office functions. Duties & Essential Job Functions: 1. Prepares and processes data for entry into data bases by training users how to code and submit data; compiling and reviewing information for discrepancies; researching and resolving issues; establishing data entry priorities and maintaining hard copy and electronic files.
2. Enter data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information as required by the system, reviewing and verifying data accuracy.
3. Monitors data bases by analyzing data and performing quality control procedures.
4. Produces output by printing and distributing hard copy or electronic communications.
5. Identifies and resolves issues by examining output, researching policies and procedures, answering questions; tracking and reporting trends and anomalies.
6. Analyzes software releases by gathering input from multiple sources, identifying and resolving issues, testing and advising management of results.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience : • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience. Preferred Education & Experience: • None Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: • None Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training: • None Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of basic office techniques.
• Knowledge of customer service techniques.
• Knowledge of basic research techniques.
• Skill in effective accuracy with keyboarding.
• Skill in accuracy with numbers.
• Skills in Microsoft Windows navigation skills.
• Ability to operate a computer using basic software.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to review and validate data.
• Ability to work independently. Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations): • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs. Work Environment:

• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.

• This role is an on campus, in-person position.

• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
