POSITION: A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in the College of Business working for the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium beginning August 22, 2022. The working title for this assignment is Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator with an official title of Graduate Program Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator I. This is a renewable assignment, contingent on performance and. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. The candidate must also:

  • Have 3+ years professional experience with digital marketing, including content creation
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Can self-motivate, take initiative, and work well independently
  • Use Microsoft Office 365 programs proficiently
  • Exercise organization and attention to detail in all work
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability in dynamic work situations
  • Handle time-sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working with diverse populations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A master’s degree in the area of business, marketing, or other related field. The ideal candidate will also have experience working in higher education and across internal units and external entities.

JOB SUMMARY: Due to program growth, the College of Business (CoB) Online Programs unit is hiring a marketing and recruitment coordinator to develop a creative marketing strategy for the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium. This position will require a high level of energy and enthusiasm when promoting the program to prospective students. This individual will work with UW MBA Consortium leadership to enhance recruitment and enrollment efforts. This individual reports to the managing director. The CoB Online Programs unit oversees operations for the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium.

The CoB Online Programs unit offers a hybrid work environment in which at least one day per week on the UW-Eau Claire campus is required and the remainder of work can be arranged to occur remotely with the supervisor, if desired. Team meetings will be scheduled primarily on the in-person day for the entire team, although there occasionally may be other days throughout the year that campus time is required, for example attending a retreat or required professional development. A typical workday consists of eight hours worked primarily between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. although we offer a great deal of flexibility; your typical daily schedule will be agreed upon in advance with the supervisor. As a service department, we have a great deal of collaboration within our team and externally. We facilitate this collaboration primarily using Microsoft Teams whether individuals are working on campus or remotely.

The admissions and recruitment coordinator works to develop and implement recruitment plans, organizes events, evaluates admissions applications, and represents the institution to prospective MBA students with a goal of attracting, admitting, and enrolling a talented, diverse student body. This individual also works to develop, execute, and evaluate digital marketing campaigns for all promotional needs of the MBA program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Marketing and Promotion

  • Develops, implements, and maintains strategic marketing plans based on research and established strategies
  • Develops, implements, and disseminates marketing materials through various communication mediums utilizing appropriate technologies and techniques, including social media and automated email
  • Collects, analyzes, prepares, summarizes, and disseminates data and trends relevant to ongoing or future marketing activities

Admissions and Recruitment

  • Counsels prospective MBA students on educational opportunities
  • Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications for admission to the MBA program according to established policies and procedures
  • Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the program
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals
  • Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences
  • Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission

Miscellaneous

  • Assists in maintenance of student records
  • Serve as primary backup to MBA Program Advisor
  • Enhance the quality of work life for all staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

THE UNIT: The unit of CoB Online Programs consists of 11 staff members and oversees operations for the UW MBA Consortium and Undergraduate Business Alliance programs. These programs are managed by the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire campus but are offered in collaboration with several other UW System schools. This position will exclusively work with the MBA program. Our team is student-focused, detail-oriented, creative, curious, and empathetic.
