The Seaver College Faculty Fellows program seeks to advance Pepperdine University's mission by providing one-year fellowships to individuals pursuing careers in Christian higher education and who are active members in congregations affiliated with the Churches of Christ.

Pepperdine University is a Christian University committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and Christian values. Located on the University's 830-acre campus overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, Seaver College is home to the University's residential undergraduate program. Seaver College enjoys a national and international reputation for the quality of its programs. The College's faculty are deeply committed to student development, teaching, and scholarship and share a common devotion to Christian moral and ethical values. It is the purpose of Pepperdine University to pursue the very highest academic standards within a context that celebrates and extends the spiritual and ethical ideals of the Christian faith.

Part of Pepperdine's distinction is the way it values its diverse faculty, staff and student body, as well as its specific affiliation with Churches of Christ. In order to affirm its heritage, Pepperdine reserves the right to seek, hire and promote persons who support the goals and mission of the institution, including special consideration for qualified individuals who are active members in a Church of Christ congregation.

Participants in the Faculty Fellows program will develop as Christian educators by participating in the college's academic life including programming provided by the University's Center for Faith and Learning and the college's Center for Teaching Excellence. Fellows will also participate in the college's new faculty orientation, retreat, and mentoring. Fellows will teach two courses each semester and one summer-session course in an academic area of the college (see: http://seaver.pepperdine.edu/academics/majors-minors/). Fellows will be expected to maintain an active scholarly agenda and contribute to the University through service.

For the academic year beginning Fall 2023, applications will be accepted from individuals who have completed a doctoral (or terminal) degree in the past three years or who have completed all course requirements and are in the dissertation phase of their doctoral studies.
