Position Summary

Simulation Laboratory Coordinator - Staff

Department of Nursing

Full time - 10 month



Primary Responsibilities

Develop and utilize simulation scenarios across the curriculum for pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), RN-BSN, and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) students

Collaborate with faculty to identify ways to use simulation to meet course objectives

Use simulation and technology-based teaching/learning strategies to assess student competence

Maintenance of high and low fidelity simulation equipment and supplies

Collaborate with other healthcare professional programs in the development of simulated experiences

Schedule use of the simulation center

Monitor and track inventory of equipment and supplies

Ensure safety standards are met

Assist in the recruitment and training of standardized patients for use in simulation scenarios

Participation in simulation committee work

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in nursing or healthcare related field

Current, active Missouri RN (Registered nurses) license or eligibility for Missouri licensure in a healthcare field

Recent experience in simulation for assessment in healthcare programs (high fidelity, low fidelity, or standardized patients)

Willingness to be flexible in scheduling learning activities

Ability to work with outside sources in acquiring and maintaining lab equipment and supplies

Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with students, faculty, staff, and the community

Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
