Position Summary

Simulation Laboratory Coordinator - Staff

Department of Nursing

Full time - 10 month



Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and utilize simulation scenarios across the curriculum for pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), RN-BSN, and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) students
  • Collaborate with faculty to identify ways to use simulation to meet course objectives
  • Use simulation and technology-based teaching/learning strategies to assess student competence
  • Maintenance of high and low fidelity simulation equipment and supplies
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professional programs in the development of simulated experiences
  • Schedule use of the simulation center
  • Monitor and track inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Ensure safety standards are met
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of standardized patients for use in simulation scenarios
  • Participation in simulation committee work


  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing or healthcare related field
  • Current, active Missouri RN (Registered nurses) license or eligibility for Missouri licensure in a healthcare field
  • Recent experience in simulation for assessment in healthcare programs (high fidelity, low fidelity, or standardized patients)
  • Willingness to be flexible in scheduling learning activities
  • Ability to work with outside sources in acquiring and maintaining lab equipment and supplies
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with students, faculty, staff, and the community
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
