The Psychology Department at Stonehill College invites applicants for an assistant professor, tenure-track appointment in Social Psychology to begin July 2023. This person will join a department of eleven full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. The department also prides itself on supporting each other and supporting a quality work-life balance for all. The position involves teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates, as well as engaging in research.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position will be a 3:3 teaching load and will include additional responsibilities of initiating and/ or maintaining a research program. The best applicants should be committed to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates in research. The successful candidate will also have a strong commitment to diversity and issues of intersectionality in areas of teaching, research, and mentoring.

Education & Experience

We seek applicants who have completed a Ph.D. in Social Psychology, area of specialty open, but priority is given to those specializing in Forensic/ Legal Psychology, Stereotyping, Prejudice, Intergroup Conflict, or Social Neuroscience. Experience mentoring and supporting students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds (first generation, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, minority religion, etc.) is preferred. Teaching responsibilities include a course on Social Psychology, courses in the applicant’s area of specialty, as well as other courses.
