Job Summary

The Department of English and World Languages at Purdue University Northwest (Hammond and Westville, Indiana) anticipates hiring multiple full-time, non-tenure-track Continuing Lecturers to teach first-year composition and other undergraduate writing courses for the Fall 2022-Spring 2023 school year.

Candidates must have completed an MA in English (or other relevant field) plus a minimum of two years’ experience teaching writing at the college level. Preference given to candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching writing at the college level. Experience teaching Honor’s courses and professional writing also preferred.

Start date is August 15, 2022. Responsibilities include teaching five classes per semester. Salary is competitive with similar positions at other regional institutions and includes benefits. Semester and year-long positions available. Renewal of the position is possible and contingent on enrollment and successful performance reviews.

The college is also home to the Willie T. Donald Exoneration Advisory Coalition to support those who have been wrongfully convicted in the state of Indiana
