Research Associate in the Darden School of Business

The Leadership and Organizations Area of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate to begin immediately.

The research associate will work closely with faculty primarily on research projects focused on fostering social connection, creating belonging, and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, particularly in online, virtual and tech-focused environments and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The successful candidates will have significant experience on theory development, experimental and survey research, and data analysis, and are expected to advance a number of research projects from conceptualization through publication. A portion of time will be devoted to collaborating with faculty with an understanding that effort will also be directed at independent research. 

QUALIFCATION REQUIRMENTS: A PhD from a social science discipline (communications, psychology, sociology organizational behavior etc.) with significant experience running in person and online experiments is required by the start date.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage and track multirole research projects and collaborate with and mentor undergraduates and doctoral students. Solid written communication skills are desirable. Knowledge of Qualtrics, Amazon Mechanical Turk, Prolific, SPSS, R and other statistical programs is strongly desired.

This is a one-year appointment; however, ideally, it would be renewed for an additional one-year, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.
