Job Duties and Responsibilities:

CMS Oversight

Oversee all operational, programming, scheduling, and development related elements of the Rowan Community Music School including:
  • Expansion in conjunction with the College of Performing Arts
  • Managing the CMS Budget
  • Collaboration with colleagues and staff to promote an environment of diversity and inclusion
  • Recruitment efforts that proactively contribute to the ongoing development of relationships with arts educators, counselors and performing arts schools that are representative of the community the CPA serves and will yield talented prospects
  • Build and increase educational partnerships with community arts organizations and public school programs
  • Specific course offerings for toddlers through adult learners ranging from individual lessons to large ensembles, student performances and workshops, teacher professional developments
  • Office staffing, supervision, and management
  • Instructor hiring, recruitment and evaluation
  • Coordinating facilities usage and scheduling
  • Monthly reports and planning with the Dean
  • Oversee the CMS sponsorship series
  • Facilitate financial aid systems
Program Coordination:
  • Manage and Develop (in person and electronically) class, ensemble, professional development sessions, workshops, and lessons
  • Generate and send welcome emails, follow up emails and surveys for all student programming.
  • Follow up with all new students enrolled in programming including daily checking and prompt responses for all inquiries.
  • Use Rowan Marketplace and troubleshoot with customers for enrollment/payment assistance.
Student worker coordination:
  • Assist in new student workers/interns hiring and onboarding.
  • Assign student workers and interns to programming needs, and administrative tasks.
  • Evaluate and assess student workers during and at the end of semesters.
Outreach and Program Operations:
  • Manage, schedule and reserve spaces and assist in person for all programming including concerts, recitals, special events and tabling the Rowan CMS table at Rowan and outside events/venues as needed.
  • Enter and update master grid calendar and google CMS calendar for all programming. Communicate with CPA Building staff and use 25 Live to book rooms.
  • Support the CMS Main desk during all programming by interacting with families, answering questions, taking pictures and video as well as facilitating enrollment.
  • Follow up with new students and faculty: collecting testimonials, compiling and analysis of program survey results, answering questions, providing resources, developing materials/information for program efficiency.
  • Answer email and phone inquiries for all programming except lessons, support the customers from point of entry through registration working in tandem with the operations and registrations clerk
  • Support CMS yearly mailing
Social Media & Marketing:
  • Maintain, update and manage the CMS website.
  • Send monthly communications to the CMS community via iModule
  • Work with the CPA Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications to:
    • Create and maintain updated content, schedule posts, cross post, create events, share posts in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
    • Data analysis for all social media on a weekly basis to the Rowan CMS platforms and share to other organizations as appropriate.
    • Create and Maintain Social Media post scheduling sheet.
    • Generate content for all programming including social media and website using (Social media posts, posters, flyers, brochures, etc).
    • Update and Manage the Rowan CMS website with updated content and media.

  • Bachelor Degree in Music; Master degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Positive, cheerful and fantastic customer service skills
  • Highly organized and complete multiple projects and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends from September to May
  • Ability to use electronic communications and video conferencing effectively.
  • Ability to use develop proficiency in technology platforms related to CMS operations
