The Department of Economics and Business at Virginia Military
Institute (VMI) invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant
Professor of Accounting, starting August 1, 2023.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to
teaching at the undergraduate level and have a desire to join an
interdisciplinary department. They will teach financial
accounting, managerial accounting, and upper-level electives that
reflect the candidate’s interest and expertise. The normal teaching
load is three courses per semester. Performance is evaluated based
on four domains: 1) teaching, 2) scholarly engagement, 3)
professional citizenship, and 4) student development (e.g.,
academic advising, mentoring undergraduate research).
Applicants must have been awarded a doctorate or be currently
ABD in Accounting or a closely related discipline and have a
research agenda related to Accounting or Accounting pedagogy.
