About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the Associate Dean for Graduate Education in developing a portfolio of academic programs that meet the college's goals of delivering high-quality programs with strong enrollment. The Associate Director supports the development of traditional and non-traditional educational products by the College of Engineering's six departments and academic units for rollout across Northeastern's campuses. The Associate Director works to develop programs and other educational products that satisfy the demand of prospective students while taking advantage of current and emerging areas of teaching expertise among the college's faculty. The Associate Director develops programs that are aligned with the college's enrollment and teaching goals, the college's teaching expertise and capacity, and the needs of our graduates' employers.

The Associate Director works with the Dean's Office to understand the college's enrollment goals as well as the college's programmatic priorities. The Associate Director works with central Enrollment Management to understand enrollment trends and opportunities, and with employers to understand their hiring needs. Organizes marketing and survey data related to new program development.

The Associate Director works with department chairs, graduate associate chairs, and program directors to develop new masters and doctoral programs that help the college achieve these goals. The Associate Director identifies programming opportunities, makes connections between faculty in emerging areas, and facilitates discussions.

The Associate Director brings collaborators together to facilitate curriculum development, supports the development of program proposals, and works with Graduate School of Engineering staff to ensure that new programs comply with governance, accreditation, and licensure guidelines. The Associate Director collaborates with counterparts in other colleges to develop interdisciplinary programs.

The Associate Director works with network campuses, the Dean's Office, and central Enrollment Management to understand the priorities and opportunities for program development across the network. The Associate Director identifies opportunities to roll out existing programs across the network, and works with department chairs, graduate associate chairs, and program directors to develop these opportunities.

The Associate Director works to develop non-traditional educational products, including those with industrial partners, that can support the college's enrollment goals, including PlusOne pathways, MSe pathways, modules, and badges. The Associate Director works with employers to identify areas of interest, and facilitates discussions with chairs, graduate associate chairs, and program directors to develop employer-focuses educational modules and badges.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally obtain through a master's degree plust at least 5-7 years of experience working in an academic environment that includes developing academic programs and working with academic units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1) Organize and understand data about enrollment trends, student program interests, and employer hiring needs across campuses.

2) Develop new masters and doctoral programs that help the college achieve these goals by working with department chairs, graduate associate chairs, and program directors.

3) Understand and develop opportunities to roll out College of Engineering (COE programs across campuses.

4) Support development of non-traditional educational products, including non-credit classes, MSe programs, PlusOne pathways, modules, and badges.

5) Support opportunities for non-COE students to take COE classes.
