Director, Talent Acquisition and Development

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer and part of the Human Resources Leadership Team (HRLT), this role will lead our Talent Acquisition and Employee Development teams in shaping strategic, agile, and customer-focused functions capable of delivering high quality business outcomes that align with the mission and goals of the college. In the Talent Acquisition arena, they must focus on efficiently filling requisitions, while simultaneously enhancing hiring manager and candidate experience. Toward that goal, the incoming Director, in collaboration with the TA team, will need to continue to execute a full functional assessment and recommend potential rebuild of existing processes and systems, inclusive of structure, talent, culture, technology, and analytics.
In the Development arena, they will primarily be responsible for the design, development, implementation and delivery of leadership, management, and employee learning and training programs across the College. They will work collaboratively with the Human Resources Leadership Team (HRLT) and others to assess the colleges' learning needs, helping to develop a comprehensive approach to short- and long-term initiatives with a focus on management development.
The Director will manage a team of five (5) who will collaborate with key HR constituents in the development, implementation and delivery of talent acquisition and learning and training programs.

  • Lead the design and execution of existing and new recruiting strategies to attract, evaluate and hire qualified candidates
  • Proactively identify and address our hiring needs
  • Manage talent acquisition team and provide direction and accountability
  • Promote diversity in the workplace and ensure recruiting strategies attract diverse candidates
  • Determine the most effective manner to build and maintain talent pipelines with potential candidates and past applicants for future staffing needs
  • Participate in the organization's strategic planning regarding employee development and engagement
  • Research and recommend new sourcing tools and recruiting software
  • Ensure proper onboarding and training for any new hires
  • Lead the communication, logistics, and delivery methods of learning and training programs, meeting the needs across the college
  • Lead the selection, implementation and administration of a Learning Management Systems (LMS), and
  • Create meaningful evaluation and reporting of learning development and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with experts across the institution to help determine curriculum content, and as appropriate, engage these individuals in the delivery of various learning and training programs.
  • Drives the instructional design process including needs assessment, curriculum development, course design, implementation and delivery of the College's employee learning and development programs.
  • Ensures the quality of design and varied instructional methods for classroom and technology-based training and development programs including virtual classroom learning and self-paced web-based training.
  • Partners closely with HR Leadership, HRBPs, College leadership and others to identify management employee performance gaps and identify options for addressing them through training or other related solutions. Ensures training programs support the changing needs of the College and address new initiatives.
  • Leads the College's performance management program in partnership with other HR leaders and works to keep it current and impactful.
  • Ensures evaluation mechanisms are in place to measure the impact and effectiveness of training programs/materials on target audiences. Utilizes measurement tools to maintain an accurate and current record of all training received.
  • Leverages internal resources and, as appropriate, and establishes pool of contractors/vendors who can be deployed when demand exceeds team capability.
  • Responsibilities include management of new employee orientation program, new employee on-boarding programs, and other employee engagement events.
  • Supports the HR team in knowledge management, maintains the HR website structure and recommends ways to maintain customer use.


Grade of Position: A20E

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

Salary: $134,200.00
