Position Summary:
The Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs at Monmouth University, a top-tier private independent university in one of the most desirable locations in the Northeast, is seeking an individual to serve as the executive assistant to the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs (Provost/SVPAA). The candidate will provide executive-level organizational and administrative support in a one-on-one working relationship and for the Office of Provost and Academic Affairs, which is the hub of the University and serves as the focal point for all activities related to strategic, academic activities and initiatives. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs.

We are looking for a reliable, experienced, and task-oriented Executive Assistant with a proven track record. The candidate must possess a “make it happen” attitude and enjoy working within a higher educational, academic environment that is mission-focus, results-oriented and extremely fast-paced. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills; to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities; and be highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks.

Required Years of Experience: 5

Other Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communication, higher education administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, communication, and current practices in higher education.

Five years of relevant professional experience working and providing administrative support to a busy executive in a fast-paced environment while remaining friendly, calm, composed, collegial, and flexible.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom meetings.

Absolute respect for the confidentiality of sensitive materials; excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to establish priorities, work under pressure, build effective working relationships. Independent judgment and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:
Background in working with legal documents and contracts.
