The Department of Engineering Technology in the College of Technology at Purdue University Northwest (PNW) in Hammond, Indiana is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor position to teach graduate and undergraduate level courses in the area of Mechatronics Engineering Technology.  The position starts on August 15, 2022. Faculty in this position are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechatronics and develop curricula; to participate in department engagement activities, as well as defined service and research activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in professional development, scholarship, and outreach activities at the local, national, and international levels as required for tenure and promotion.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications.

The Department of Engineering Technology offers three ABET accredited Baccalaureate degree programs: B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Mechatronics Engineering Technology. The Department provides an excellent teaching and learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software. The Department has 12 full-time faculty members with enrollment of more than 200 students.

Education

PhD in Engineering/Technology, or related areas, is required. 

Experience

Individuals who can show evidence of previous teaching and/or industrial experience are encouraged to apply.  The successful candidate must demonstrate background and expertise in the areas of Industrial Controls, Robotics, PLCs, System Integration and related emerging subjects through educational and/or professional experience.
