The Director, Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for supervising professional SXL Staff for Marketing and Strategic Planning Functions in the School of Extended Learning at Governors State University. The Director will provide and promote vision and leadership which requires skillful management of personnel, such as assignment of duties, training, assessment of performance and annual evaluation. The Director, reports to the Executive Director of the SXL and within the Office of the Provost and is responsible for ongoing and successful Strategic Planning for Revenue Growth and Sustainability, Diversification of Funding Sources, and Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations Strategy. The Director represents the School of Extended Learning by participating in many initiatives across the organization and with external stakeholders and partners.

Salary Range: $76,000 to $89,000.
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

REQUIRED : COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below).

· Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Marketing, or related field.

· Strategy, project or change management, and/or consulting roles (10+ years)

· Ability to quickly develop and recommend innovative solutions to new market or funding opportunities

· Marketing and strategic communications development

· Grant-writing experience (5+ years)
