Managing Associate

Art & Science Group, LLC, one of the nation’s most influential consulting firms specializing in institutional strategy and market research for colleges, universities, and schools, seeks a creative and strategic thinker to join the firm as a managing associate. Managing associates at Art & Science Group engage with dynamic higher education leaders and campus communities to help their institutions innovate and thrive during one of the most challenging times in American higher education. The managing associate plays a critical role in informing strategic decisions that will shape the nature of the student academic, co-curricular, and social experience as well as how the institution engages with current students, alumni, and other key constituencies.

Based in downtown Baltimore steps from the city’s lively waterfront, Art & Science Group is an energetic and intellectual workplace. The 20-person firm offers a flexible in person, remote, or hybrid working environment. This position will require travel to client campuses, but the managing associate will not need to be based in Baltimore.

The ideal candidate may come from a variety of backgrounds but should have: extensive knowledge of higher education or related field (ideally including some exposure to institutional strategy); a passion for problem-solving; facility interpreting data and thinking critically; exceptional written and oral communication skills; and strong organizational and time management abilities. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree strongly preferred. Meaningful engagement in a higher education institution or independent school setting is a plus. Personal qualities desired include a strong commitment to and passion for the work we do as a firm, good listening skills, grace under pressure, and a positive style that motivates others. This is not a research position, but capability and confidence in interpreting, summarizing, and presenting quantitative and qualitative findings are required. Qualified candidates must flourish in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and have demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously that require great attention to detail and deadlines.
