The Assistant Athletic Trainer is a full-time, 12-month exempt position reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer.
Responsibilities :
- Supervise the care of student athletes participating in the Flagler College athletics program;
- Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by student-athletes while participating in Flagler College sports;
- Coordinate all aspects of team care pertaining to assigned teams;
- Evaluate acute and chronic injuries, fabricate protective equipment, provide daily treatment;
- Administer emergency care, schedule appointments / referrals;
- Implement prevention and rehabilitation programs for athletes;
- Maintain detailed and current medical records;
- Attend all assigned team practices and competitions;
- Assist in daily maintenance of athletic training facilities and equipment;
- Educate athletes on injury prevention, management, and return to play;
- Communicate daily with all members of the sports medicine staff, athletes, coaches, and team physicians;
- Be willing to assist in the processing of medical insurance claims and related information;
- Collaborate with sports medicine staff to create and update emergency actions plans and policies and procedures documents;
- Oversee inventory and purchasing / restocking medical supplies and equipment;
- Serve as an approved clinical instructor and mentor undergraduate athletic training students;
- Assist with pre-participation screening and physicals for incoming athletes;
- Administer preseason concussion baseline testing (and follow-up testing as needed);
- Help organize weekly doctors clinics and randomized drug testing procedures;
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine.
- Bachelors degree;
- 2-3 years experience
- Masters degree
