Counselor - Accessibility Services

Summary:
Are you interested in creating an inclusive environment for students with disabilities?
The Accessibility Services team is looking to hire an Accessibility Counselor who will provide access and accommodations for students as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. In this role, you will meet with students, evaluate disability documentation, and utilize an interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations. May require occasional evening or weekends. Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred, but not required. Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s and two years of full time professional employment related to the Summary of Duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- An understanding of how to implement the American Disability Act (ADA) to recommend and approve accommodations for a variety of disabilities.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to problem-solve, work collaboratively, and resolve access issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a disability services-related field such as accessibility services, special education, or vocational rehabilitation.
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
Physical Requirements:
This position performs work in a standard office setting.
