Job Summary

The Resasco Lab (https://www.colorado.edu/lab/resasco/) at the University of Colorado, Boulder is seeking a postdoctoral scientist interested in conducting research to understand how human stressors on the environment affect biodiversity and how to mitigate those impacts. These stressors include changes to landscapes, climate change, and species introductions. Areas of research include landscape connectivity/corridors, habitat fragmentation, plant-pollinator networks, insect community ecology, stable isotope ecology, and conservation biology.

EBIO's disciplinary strengths include ecology, evolution, genetics, behavior, biology education research and systematics. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Initiate new projects related to lab foci or collaborate on existing projects, for example studying how plant-pollinator networks change over time and space or how corridors affect biodiversity and adaptation to climate change.
  • Designing studies, collecting data, analyzing existing data sets, writing papers, and helping to mentor students.

  • The position will begin as early as Summer 2022. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility to extend for additional years based on performance and continued funding.
  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to align with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement . New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.
What We Can Offer

The salary range for this full-time position is $55,000-$60,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience.

What We Require
  • A Ph.D. in ecology or a related field.
What You Will Need
  • Skills in field and/or quantitative ecology (especially coding in R), strong written and oral communication skills, and a strong track record of project completion and publications.
