The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures in the May School of Arts and Sciences at Stonehill College invite applicants for an Adjunct Instructor of Arabic. The candidate will be expected to teach two introductory-level courses and possibly work with more advanced students in a directed study. This is a one-semester position for Fall 2022 with the possibility of an extension. The candidate would join the department of 5 full-time faculty members with a range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. This position is fully in person on the Stonehill campus.
Education & Experience
The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic instructor that demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of abilities. Candidates also must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field. A terminal degree in Arabic is preferred, but ABD candidates or those possessing an M.A. also will be considered.
