Position Summary:

Join our team of talented individuals who contribute to a nationally recognized dining program and is committed to providing healthy food options to students, faculty and staff on campus. We are seeking qualified candidates to apply for our General Manager opening! This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

Direct, lead, oversee, and manage all food and beverage within the full-service operation on the main campus. This full-service operations employs 40 to 50 bargaining unit employees and up to 150 student employees and conducts upwards of 2000 transactions daily. The operating hours are 7 days/week up to 15 hours/day. Responsibilities include oversight of the following: finances and budgeting, purchasing, unit communication, productivity, labor management within a union environment, customer service, quality assurance, menu development, safety and sanitation, regulatory compliance, unit marketing and promotion, facilities and equipment management including monitoring maintenance and repairs. In addition, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining a results-oriented team environment through leadership and organizational skills resulting in a diverse and inclusive culture that exhibits a passion for excellence, innovation, creativity, ethical work practices and personal integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Two (2) year degree from an accredited university with a major in Culinary Arts, Institutional Management, Business, Restaurant Management or related field of study OR In lieu of educational requirement, five (5) years progressive managerial experience in a high volume a la carte restaurant, hospital or university food service setting will be considered.
*Three (3) years managerial experience in high volume a la carte restaurant, hospital or university food service
*Current Managerial ServSafe certification including Ohio certification in food protection or within one year of hire.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Working knowledge of current production processes involving all industrial kitchen equipment to assure proper use and training for all employees.
*Knowledge of business processes applicable to purchasing, financial accounting, inventories, and food service management.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
*Experience working with people at all levels and a diverse, multicultural staff
*Proven proficiency in food service safety and sanitation practices.
*Proven leadership skills including integrity and strong interpersonal skills.
*Must be able to work a variable schedule, including evenings/nights, weekends and holidays.
*Valid driver's license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

*Managerial experience in the following:
-Micros or similar system
-CBord or similar system
-Kronos or similar timekeeping system
*Four (4) year accredited degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Culinary Arts or related field of study, and three (3) years of General Manager experience.
*Proven knowledge of food costing, menu development, ordering, storage and inventory controls, and safe food handling policies and procedures.
*Proven experience in scheduling and managing a diverse bargaining unit staff of 40 or more employees.
*Proven experience with staff assessment and progressive discipline, under union contract provisions.
*Demonstrated experience in planning and managing interpersonal relationships.
*Proven experience in marketing, menu planning, recipe development, and nutritional analysis.
*Demonstrated experience in staff training, development and assessments.
*Demonstrated ability in creativity, innovation and management of multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
*Proven experience in strategic and long range planning.
*Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and abilities to identify, research and solve a wide variety of related challenges.
*Experience working with eCommerce, Runway or similar e-procurement systems.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
