The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Providence College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Spanish for Fall 2022. The teaching load for this position is four courses. Essential Duties
Candidates for this position should be willing to teach a wide range of Spanish language and culture courses, including courses in Contemporary Spanish literature and culture, at the undergraduate level. Further, faculty in our department are expected to engage with students to promote interest in the study of Spanish and participate in departmental and college activities. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to and/or experience with engaging diverse students in the classroom. Education and Experience Required
PhD in Spanish from an accredited institution by the time of the appointment; record of and commitment to scholarly research and publication; proof of teaching experience at various levels; native or near-native fluency and cultural competency are essential.
