Professional in Residence- MBA Healthcare Administration

Position Category: Faculty - Non Tenure Track (FT)

Summary:
Under the direction of the Chair, Department of Organizational Leadership, and the Associate Dean, Woodbury School of Business, this non-tenure-track faculty plans, prepares, and teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Teaching is the heart of Woodbury's mission, so program-building in growth areas such as healthcare management is our focus. Courses created or assigned are expected to focus on existing and newly developing topics such as healthcare management, healthcare data & analytics, healthcare finance, population health, healthcare systems, healthcare policy and law, general management and ethics, or executive leadership. The successful candidate will prepare instructional materials, including examinations, course outlines, syllabus, and visual aids. The candidate will maintain AACSB professional category qualifications along with having extensive knowledge and experience in healthcare leadership, industry trends, and career opportunities for graduate students. Responsibilities may also include advising students during office hours as well as at other times as needed. Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s or doctoral degree directly related to healthcare management, healthcare leadership, plus professional executive experience within healthcare.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive leadership experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of development and assessment of curriculum and job-skill related to healthcare.
  • Advanced knowledge of subject matter including both theory and practice.
  • Experience with graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Skilled in providing support for high-quality, community-engaged experiential learning projects.
  • Ability to generate, integrate, and facilitate real-life healthcare management project opportunities with community organizations (e.g. for-profit businesses, non-profit, government agencies, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with industry leaders, colleagues, and healthcare organizations.





Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred MBA, MHA, PhD or DBA from an AACSB-accredited program, or closely related field.
5+ years in executive leadership roles in healthcare.

Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a normal teaching environment.
