The University of the District of Columbia is seeking a temporary Project Director to support the four-year “Public Health Information Technology for DC” (PHIT4DC) Cooperative Agreement Grant project. Note: this position shall end on 09/20/2025. The overarching goal of the PHIT4DC project is to train and increase the number of public health informatics professionals in Wards 7 and 8 who can improve the delivery of professional community healthcare services to disadvantaged racial/ethnic minority populations in Wards 7 and 8 by employing modern standards and data science/computing technology knowledge, skills, and abilities effectively. The Project Director will collaborate with consortium partners, advisory members, and all key stakeholders across various federal agencies, universities, community partners, and program officials.

Brief Description of Duties

The University of the District of Columbia is seeking a Project Director to work on a federally funded grant project. The project focuses on enhancing and/or developing designated healthcare specific training programs provided by the two participating University partners to train and place students in underserved communities to serve underserved communities and populations. This position provides opportunities to work in exciting and high impact program development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation activities with university representatives and leaders while creating a strong and long-term sustainable impact on the targeted communities. The Project Director position is for one year and can be renewed for up to three years, subject to program performance and the availability of funds .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, prepare, and submit grant progress reports in coordination with the Principle Investigators, the external evaluator(s), the Office of University Research, and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records and details of all grant spending activities in accordance with the approved spending plan for the for the cooperative agreement and in compliance with the OMB Uniform Guidance.
  • Order and oversee timely payment of all grant invoices.
  • Spearhead and efficiently and effectively support all communication activities, included but not limited to organizing meetings, workgroups, and all administrative and logistical activities, as required.
  • Organize outreach activities, meetings, internal and external workshops and events in coordination with the Principal Investigators.
  • Coordinate organized fulfillment of all activities and action items to ensure smooth transactions amongst all key stakeholders, external entities, and others as directed by the Principal Investigators.
  • Assist with maintaining and managing all sponsor engagement, business development, and marketing and outreach activities.
Other Duties

The successful candidate is expected to:
  • Coordinate all required cooperative agreement grant communication activities including communications with the funder partners.
  • Represent the PHIT4DC consortium and attend sponsor and related meetings.
  • develop, implement, track/monitor, and evaluate established processes, procedures, etc.
  • Conduct and manage all data collection and reporting activities associated with the project.
  • Monitor and track all associated approved budgets including ensuring compliance with Federal guidelines, spending plans and University policies and procedures.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in project management and administrative duties.
  • 3+ years supervision experience
  • Knowledge of MS office tools, and other commonly utilized software platforms, website development and improvement, impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • 3+ years’ experience conducting cross-collaborative project management activities skills and ability to work with others amicably.

Employment Benefits: Selectee will be eligible for health insurance and annual (vacation) and sick leave only. Part-time selectee will be eligible for annual (vacation) and sick leave on a pro-rated basis.
