The UW-Milwaukee College of Health Sciences Health Informatics & Administration Department encompasses a range of programs dedicated to facilitating students’ development of skills in areas of high demand in health care.
Within the MS Health Care Informatics program, we develop students’ skills in high-demand areas in health care, such as systems analysis and design, database design and management, clinical decision support and computer programming. We also offer an undergraduate Health Informatics certificate.

Job Summary
This 12-month position will serve as core instructional academic staff in the MS Healthcare Informatics program. The primary responsibilities of this position will be Instruction of students in the MS-Health Informatics and Undergraduate Health Informatics Certificate programs, curricular design, program development and management, mentoring and advising students, and service to the program, department, college, university, and/or profession. General expectation for this position will be teaching 3-4 courses each semester and 1-2 courses over summer depending on the amount of service work built into workload.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MS in Health Informatics or a related field.
  • Prior professional experience practicing health informatics.





Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorly trained in Health Informatics or a related field (e.g., PhD, MD or equivalent) (or doctoral degree in progress).
  • Prior instructional experience as a fieldwork educator and/or academic educator.
  • Two or more years of professional background and/or experience practicing health informatics or related projects
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in either practice or academia. (e.g., project lead, program director, manager/supervisor)
  • Experience in program development and/or management in academic environment.
  • Experience using online and distance education instructional methods.
  • Experience in advising and working with students or clients from diverse and nontraditional academic backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
