DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Department of Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience (IPN), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), at Washington State University (WSU) is seeking to fill a faculty position at the rank of Lecturer in the anatomy program. Position will be in Pullman, Washington. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will participate in the teaching of small and large animal anatomy labs to professional DVM and undergraduate students, live animal palpation labs, and a skeletal preparation course. The person in this position is also expected to aid in specimen preparation and acquisition, work with the anatomy group to ensure that all processes of compliance and reporting regarding specimens are adhered to and to further instructional innovation while supporting current faculty in content curation and evaluation. Additional duties will be assigned at the discretion of the department chair based on program needs and qualifications of the person hired.

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in a relevant field, evidence of instructional proficiency, knowledge of comparative animal anatomy, and ability to handle small and large domestic animals are required. Preference will be given to applicants with DVM or PhD degrees and to those with prior experience in professional level anatomy course instruction.        

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience (IPN) at WSU is part of a large, vibrant Neuroscience community that spans the Pullman, Spokane, and Vancouver campuses. Our faculty teach the professional DVM curriculum for students in years one and two, as well as in the graduate and undergraduate neuroscience program.  The department is committed to a climate that values and fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion.

AREA: Washington State University’s Pullman campus in Eastern Washington sits in the rich agricultural area known as the Palouse. Pullman is known for excellent schools and as a safe place to live and raise a family. Pullman is only eight miles from the University of Idaho at Moscow and approximately an hour south of Spokane. Recreational opportunities abound with skiing, fishing, hunting, whitewater rafting, camping, hiking, and rock climbing all nearby. Pullman is near numerous rivers, lakes, and wilderness areas; including the Snake, Salmon, and Clearwater rivers, Coeur d’Alene, Pend Oreille, and Priest lakes, and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness to name a few.
