POSITION TITLE:
Medical Surgical Nursing Instructor

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

The Medical Surgical Nursing Instructor is a full time, tenure track position at City College, MSU Billings.

COMPENSATION:

Annually

SALARY:

Salary range of $55,000 to $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include teaching up to 30 credit hours per year in the Certificate of Applied Science degree in Practical Nursing program and/or the Associate Science in Nursing Registered Nursing Program; providing hospital clinical and skills lab coordination; participating in curriculum and course development and outcomes assessment; participating in MSU Billings and City College and/or University committee assignments and activities; scholarly activity; online course development and delivery, teaching at non-traditional times; advising and recruiting students; grant writing; and community service.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing or current enrollment in a Master’s Degree in Nursing program
  • A current unencumbered license to practice professional nursing in Montana
  • Two years nursing experience within the last five years either working in a professional nursing practice or teaching in a nursing program
  • Clinical competency in general nursing skills
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in the workplace, such as with community and health care entities
  • Demonstrated experience in using software applications ( i.e. Microsoft Office)
  • Demonstrated experience working in medical-surgical nursing or continuing education credits in this content area

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience teaching at a two-year college
  • Experience with online learning management systems
  • Experience with course and program level assessment
