Design, develop, implement and maintain model structures and applications to support the mission of the university.
ResponsibilitiesThis position is a member of the Administrative Applications and Analytics team of the VSU Information Technology Division. The AAA Team develops and supports our custom business applications as well as third-party enterprise systems.
Typical Allocation of Duties:
Develop applications and other tools -
35%
Develop application specifications and determine best tools or
methods to satisfy those needs and requirements.
Monitor functionality - 20%
Stay current on application functionality by reviewing
documentation and reading visiting user community websites.
Determine functional needs and requirements -
35%
Work with management to determine functional needs and
requirements.
Project documentation - 10%
Complete and maintain project documentation.
Supervisor Expectations:
- Work as a member of the team and communicate with manager
- Follow established protocols and procedures regarding development and data security
- Knowledge of the following:
- Oracle database (SQL, PL/SQL)
- Oracle Application Express
- PHP
- Java
- GitLab
- Visual Studio .NET
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree and over one (1) year of related work
experience.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).
Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.
