Job Summary

Career Discovery and Success is seeking a Coordinator of Business Services. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to consolidate financial and business operations forwarded from functional units and team leads within the university career center. This position serves as a liaison for departmental administrative support personnel and advises on policies and procedures relevant to business operations, budgeting, and human resources issues. Additionally, this position coordinates daily business operations including reviewing departmental financial transactions, budget change orders, payroll, and travel vouchers. This position will work with and advise students, employees, and faculty on policies and procedures concerning operational issues related to business and financial operations, as well as assist in developing and balancing the departments total budget based on financial information gathered from internal units and team leads. An essential function of this position is to coordinate human resources processes to include recruitment of new employees and completing and reviewing personnel action forms. This position will prepare or coordinate the preparation of business and financial reports and may be responsible for coordinating the purchase and/or maintenance of equipment and inventories. Supervisory responsibilities are not a key function of this position but may be necessary in the future. However, this position will work in a coordinated effort with other administrative support personnel that operate within functional areas or units of Career Discovery and Success.

Essential Functions

· Coordinates daily business operations to include reviewing departmental financial transactions, JLD grand fund budget management, budget change orders, payroll, and/or travel vouchers.
· Coordinates human resources processes to include recruitment of new employees and completing and reviewing personnel action forms
· Serves as liaison for departmental administrative support personnel to advising on policy and procedure relevant to business operations, budgeting, and human resources issues.
· Advises Career Discovery and Success personnel, faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and student workers on policies and procedures concerning operational issues related to business and financial operations.
· Assists in developing and balancing the unit’s total budget based on financial information gathered from subordinate units/teams within the Career Discovery and Success.
· Prepares or coordinates the preparation of business and financial reports and provides them on a regular basis to the executive director and functional unit directors.
