Salary Basis: 12 month

Responsibilities:
1. To possess an understanding of, and a commitment to, the University Mission and Vision as well as the goals and objectives of Student Affairs.2. Determine student eligibility for services based on documentation regarding classroom, housing, dining and campus life accommodations.3. Consult with students and third-party providers about reasonable accommodations on a case-by-case basis.4. Arrange for assistive technology, texts in alternative formats, and other aides as needed in order to provide individualized accommodations for students.5. Coordinate services for students with temporary disabilities.6. Inform faculty of academic accommodations, compliance with legal responsibilities, as well as instructional, programmatic or curriculum modifications.7. Consult with faculty, administrators, and key campus departments (such as residential life and campus services) regarding the needs of students.8. Assess the effectiveness of Student Disability Services program services and activities.9. Develop and revise office policies and procedures as appropriate.10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on issues in the field and interpret court/government agency rulings and interpretations affecting services for students.11. Advocate for students to faculty and administrators.12. Provide disability awareness training for campus constituencies.13. Communicate information regarding office services to students and the campus community.14. Process complaints/grievances from students related to accommodation issues.15. Ensure confidentiality of highly sensitive information including maintenance of student accommodation records.16. Work collaboratively with other offices and staff within the student success center in order to support students.17. To perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of disability laws and implications for higher education including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Fair Housing Act.2. Ability to understand and interpret disability documentation.3. Ability to work with diverse populations including sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities.4. Excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.5. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.6. Strong organizational and follow-up and follow-through skills.7. Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships to ensure student’s best interests are upheld.8. Proven ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential information; familiarity with FERPA regulations.Master’s DegreeMaster’s Degree with three (3) years of experience in higher education

Salary:
12 monthCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
