The Computer Science Electrical Engineering department* within the School of Science and Engineering.

* Effective July 1, 2022, the department of Computer Science Electrical Engineering will transition to the new Division of Computing, Analytics and Mathematics

Job Description

This unranked non-tenure track faculty will teach four (4) course sections per semester with an enrollment projection of 60 students per section.

The ideal candidates should have expertise in teaching several topics at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, including but not limited to: Algorithms, Applied Probability, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Architecture, Cybersecurity, Data Science Principles, Data Structures, Discrete Structures, Human-Computer Interaction, Machine Learning, Networking, Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, Programming Language Paradigms, Software Engineering.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

1) have a strong commitment to quality undergraduate / graduate engineering education;

2) teach courses in the undergraduate / graduate programs;

3) maintain an outstanding record of education and professional leadership;

4) engage in department, school, and/or university service activities appropriate to the position;

5) advance the goals and strategic plan of SCE and UMKC.

Minimum Qualifications

• To be considered as an Instructor for teaching Graduate courses: applicant must have a PHD or equivalent degree
• To be considered as an Instructor for teaching Undergraduate courses: applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with a Teaching Certificate or prior teaching experience in Computer Science or related areas at any level in an accredited university in the USA or elsewhere.

Full Time/Part Time

Full time [100% FTE], benefit-eligible, 9-month unranked academic appointment.
