Job Description:

Kansas City University is seeking a Program Manager to lead our new Thrive Program and support the university’s wellness initiatives for all faculty, staff and students. The Thrive Program is intended to strengthen student resilience, reduce burnout, and facilitate social belonging of students in health care professions. The Thrive Program Manager will manage program goals and objectives and maintain HRSA grant compliance. Additionally, this role will assist with campus-wide health and wellness initiatives and support the strategic emphasis on population health and health equity.

Note: This position is a HRSA grant funded position, and the length of the assignment is depended on funding availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide administrative oversight for the Thrive Program and ensure achievement of program goals, objectives, and intended outcomes in regards to the development and implementation of an evidence-based coping and resiliency program for early-career health care professionals.
• Assist University leadership, HRSA, Program Director, staff, students, and partners with planning, program design, implementation, and evaluation of the Thrive program.
• Support University leadership to train staff, faculty, and partners throughout the program.
• Develop/present reports to University leadership, HRSA, partners, students, Program Director, and other stakeholders about compliance, progress, performance, and impact of the program.
• Identify and lead response to additional community, state and/or federal funding opportunities to include writing grant proposals and project planning response timeline.
• Ensure compliance with University policy, HRSA’s requirements, and all other federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the program grant.
• Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures in support of the Thrive Program and other campus-wide grants.
• Support wellness committees and collaborate with key stakeholders on the planning and execution of Thrive Program and other wellness events and activities.
• Assist with the advancement of other wellness-related strategic priorities such as inclusivity, population health and health equity.
• Lead/participate in councils and commissions per established and/or new collaborative agreements with community partners.
• Research, develop, and implement creative approaches for outreach, promotion, engagement, and retention of students in the program.
• Collaborate with the program team to develop and expand partnerships for program enhancement, expansion, replication, scalability, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with finance and grant administration staff to ensure proper budgeting, accounting, and auditing of grant funds.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of time devoted to Thrive Program activities per HRSA/University-mandated requirements, policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health and fitness, health education/promotion, or other health-related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• Five years related experience, including experience with program/project management.
• Two years of experience in writing grants, grant management, and grant compliance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
• Can work independently and as a team with cultural humility/commitment to equity/inclusion.
