A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a non-exempt, full-time Service Worker in its Environmental Services Department on the Kirksville, Missouri, campus. The position reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor. The service worker will perform diversified cleaning duties throughout campus. They will generally work alone, but may at times work as part of a team while completing projects. May be assigned other tasks on an occasional basis. The hours for this position are 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday-Friday. Must be able to work limited overtime as needed for special events and snow removal in the winter which may include some weekend hours.

  • Seven step cleaning procedure in offices, classrooms, exam rooms, etc.
  • High dusting
  • Damp wiping
  • Wall spotting
  • Emptying waste baskets
  • Bathroom cleaning
  • Floor dusting
  • Floor disinfecting
  • Room setups
  • Furniture moving
  • Floor refinishing
  • Total carpet care
  • Window and fixture washing
  • Wall washing
  • Spray buffing
  • Damp discing
  • Hazard material clean-up
  • Salvage cleaning
  • Snow removal
  • Special event set-up
  • Other projects as assigned
Skills/Requirements
  • Must understand measuring and mixing (chemicals)
  • Must understand verbal and written communication
  • This person has exposure to blood-borne pathogens so requires orientation at annual training regarding proper handling
  • Must be able to work outside in cold or hot weather, as needed
  • Must be able and willing to work limited overtime as needed
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work individually and in a team environment
