Position Summary

Department of Nursing Affiliate/Part-Time Nursing Faculty Pool PT NUR / CLN /Clsrm/Lab Qualified applicants are placed in the departmental pool and will be considered for affiliate/part-time departmental needs.

Teach classroom, laboratory and clinical components of courses to RN- BSN Completion students, Traditional, and Accelerated BSN students; work and interact with diverse groups of individuals.

Duties/Responsibilities

Teach classroom, laboratory and clinical components of courses to RN- BSN Completion students, Traditional, and Accelerated BSN students offered in traditional semesters, utilizing on-ground, hybrid or on-line formats. Work and interact with diverse groups of individuals.

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, usually on a semester by semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. An affiliate faculty member’s duties include: meeting assigned classes or delivering on-line content consistent with university, college/school, and department policies; providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if appropriate, with department course coordination policies; being available, either face to face or electronically, to students in assigned classes to provide additional academic support as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; and complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.

Candidates need to be sensitive to the educational needs of students from a diverse population, conduct student assessments as prescribed by the curriculum, and must be willing to adhere to policies and procedures regarding students and faculty as established by the University and Department.

The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.

Required Qualifications

An active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado and a Master’s Degree in Nursing from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation. For clinical teaching, documented one year experience in the area of instruction.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of Clinical Scholar Workshop.
