Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience. (Anticipated hiring range: $80,000 - $84,000 per year)

Position Summary:

The School of Social Work is searching for a .95 time base, 12-month, Title IV-E Project Coordinator to start August 1, 2022. This position is classified as a 12-month Lecturer. The responsibilities of the position are listed below. The Title IV-E Program is under the general direction and supervision of the Principle Investigator of the Title IV-E grant. This position reports to the Lead Title IV-E Project Coordinator and collaborates with other Title IV-E employees. This position provides support for BSW and MSW students selected into the Title IV-E Program.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • An MSW degree in Social Work from a CSWE Accredited MSW program
  • Two years recent experience in public child welfare/protection services
  • Experience training and supervising students in the field practicum, preferably in a county child welfare agency
  • Knowledge regarding current public child welfare policies and practices in California
  • The ability to work with ethnically diverse students, faculty and agency staff in implementing child welfare training and education programs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching at instructor level at a university school/department of social work
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Experience in public child welfare staff development and training
  • Experience facilitating groups and meetings
  • ACSW or LCSW preferred
  • Bilingual candidates will be given preference
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver Title IV-E Program orientations, trainings, workshops, groups, and seminars.
  • Provide on-site Agency Field Instruction (AFI) to Title IV-E students placed in identified public child welfare agencies.
  • Partner with public child welfare agencies, social workers, staff and leadership, to provide a meaningful internship experience for Title IV-E students.
  • In partnership with the faculty Field Liaisons (FL) monitor and support students’ field learning experience and assist Title IV-E students in the development of the Student Learning Agreements.
  • Participate in Title IV-E informational meetings and recruitment efforts, including in-agency events.
  • Participate in curriculum committees.
  • Provide student support and advising.
  • Participate in collaborative efforts within the program, department, university, and community, including faculty, program, and committee meetings.
  • Work in partnership with other Title IV-E positions.
  • Teach social work courses as needed.
The Department:

The California State University, Chico, School of Social Work is a participant in the statewide Title IV-E Child Welfare Training Program, a collaborative project of the California Department of Social Services, the County Welfare Directors Association, California’s graduate schools of social work and social welfare, and the California Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). The primary goal is to professionalize public child welfare services by increasing the number of bachelor's- and master's-degreed social workers who provide services to children and their families.
