Reporting to the Vice-President, Students, with a dotted line to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic UBCV, the Associate Vice-President (AVP), Career Services is responsible for the strategic leadership of Career Services and related programming at the UBC Vancouver campus in alignment with the UBC Student Strategic Plan goals, purposes, and priorities. As a member of the Vice-President Students’ (VPS) Senior Leadership Team, the AVP Career Services contributes to the development and execution of VPS portfolio-wide strategic priorities.
The AVP Career Services leads and develops innovative career services programming to meet the evolving needs and diversity of UBC’s student population, through effective collaboration, evidence-based research, practices and programs, innovative technology, and strategic partnerships. In addition, this role will provide leadership in the development and fostering of collaborative, strategic, responsive, and innovative partnerships across UBC portfolios and with key external partners including industry and government.
Demonstrating leadership in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, this role will ensure the Career Services unit strategic annual operating goals are aligned with broader University and portfolio-wide objectives and plans including, but not limited to, the Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP), the Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence (ARIE) report and the Inclusion Action Plan (IAP).

The xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm and Syilx peoples have been stewards and caretakers of these territories since time immemorial.
