Essential Job Functions
- Directs and manages the DBA program and monitors the program’s effectiveness, including the outcomes assessment process
- Plans and implements program growth opportunities in collaboration with the College of Business (COB) and the College of Professional Studies (CPS)
- Oversees curriculum development for the DBA program and verifies content relevancy
- Assists in the development and evaluation of the DBA program goals and objectives, as well as the college’s accreditation efforts
- Monitors and reports program statistics including enrollment, retention and other relevant metrics
- Recruits, recommends, hires, supervises, assesses and develops qualified full- and part-time faculty to support the DBA program, in collaboration with the College of Professional Studies (CPS)
- Oversees the program dissertation phase including the assignment of major advisors and second readers
- Oversees and facilitates the transfer credit process in collaboration with other university departments
- Assists with the resolution of student issues, in collaboration with CPS and COB
- Manages the DBA admissions process including applicant review, interviews and evaluation, and attends virtual admissions events
- Acts as a liaison between the DBA program and other university departments
- Updates marketing materials and current and prospective student communications in collaboration with the CPS marketing team
- Teaches courses in the DBA program, as appropriate
- Prepares and monitors the departmental budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution, or other appropriate accreditation as determined by Johnson & Wales University
- Moderate amount of experience working in higher education leadership or in other related work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with teaching and managing doctoral business programs and online education programs
- Experience with AACSB accreditation
- Experience with leading the development of growth opportunities in graduate business program
Compensation: $130,000 - $135,000 annualized
