Administrative Specialist for Academic Affairs, Office of the Provost
Academic Affairs, full-time staff, 12-month position
The Office of the Provost seeks an Administrative Specialist for Academic Affair to provide primary project and administrative support for the Associate Provost, the new Faculty Excellence Collective, and Faculty Senate while also supporting the Staff Training and Enrichment Program (STEP). In support of the Faculty Excellence Collective, responsibilities will include project support for Faculty Development, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (ORIA), as well as interaction with the Center for Academic Technologies (CAT). The candidate will have and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, organizational and planning skills, budget management skills, and will display the ability to work on a variety of projects in a timely and effective manner. A strong work ethic and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary administrative and project support, including
budget management, for the Associate Provost
- Provide support for the Faculty Excellence collective,
including
- Planning and primary project support for Faculty
Development
- Specific project support for OIRA and OSP
- Directed collaborations with CAT
- Participate in the leadership and support for STEP
- Provide administrative and project support for Faculty
Senate
- Prepare personnel and budgetary documents as assigned
- Execute other duties as assigned by the Office of the Provost
or the Associate Provost
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or GED
required
- 3-5 years of office-related administrative experience,
preferably in higher education
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with
PeopleSoft, Canvas, Zoom, Panopto; willingness to learn new
technologies and software as needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability
to handle communication in a time-sensitive and accurate
manner
- Strong organizational and planning skills with an ability to
prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously on an annual
basis and when assigned; ability to work in a high-demand
environment
- Capacity to handle detail-oriented assignments independently
and with accuracy
- Experience with budget management preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Strong work ethic and commitment to professionalism
