Purpose of Position
The College of Health and Human Services is seeking applications for one full-time, non-tenure track Psych-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The position reports to the School of Nursing Program Director.

Principle Functions
The Clinical Coordinator is an APRN who is nationally certified and is responsible for the coordinating and oversight of the Clinical portion for the NP specialty track. The Clinical Coordinator ensures that the clinical program requirement is congruent with national standards for APRN education while preparing graduates to meet eligibility requirements to sit for the NP certification exam. The position includes teaching responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities
Faculty Leadership:
· Oversee and facilitate clinical specialty program needs with the direction from the MSN Program Director and by the APRN Concentration Coordinator
· Consult with the Concentration Coordinator to provide input into the evaluation of clinical faculty
· Promote clinical faculty professional development
· Ensure clinical faculty have adequate orientation and current clinical expertise for the clinical faculty role
· Collaborate with MSN Program Director as needed for scheduling of clinical courses

Communication:
· Communicate clinical program status and any issues to the Concentration Coordinator, MSN Program Director and Associate School Director for Graduate Nursing
· Communicate with compliance team regarding contracts and compliance of students, preceptors, and agencies
· Provide regular updates to the MSN Program Director and Concentration Coordinator about student clinical experiences
· Communicate expectations and program changes to clinical faculty, students and preceptors

Other duties include:
· Utilize Medatrax for full clinical experience
· Other duties as assigned

Required Training:
· Completes ‘Best Practices for Online Teaching’ Canvas course as assigned
· Completes required Faculty Development courses annually
· Complete Clinical systems training currently used in program (i.e., Medatrax)

Professional Expectations:
· Maintain current RN and APRN certification/licensure
· Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development
· Maintain part-time clinical practice as needed to maintain APRN certification/licensure; Ensure clinical practice does not interfere with faculty duties
· Maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress
· Adhere to MSN policies and faculty professional standards as delineated in the NKU Faculty Handbook
· Utilize Canvas email or nku.edu email for ALL course communications – encourages students to do the same
· Teach or precept as needed to meet program needs Qualifications
Qualifications:
· MSN with Advanced Practice Certification in a nurse practitioner specialty required; Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field preferred
· Equivalent of a minimum 2 years of full time practice in APRN specialty; 5 years nursing practice
· Previous graduate level teaching preferred
· Previous online teaching experience preferred
· Must possess a valid unencumbered registered nursing license and advanced practice license
· Familiar with the clinical requirements for MSN students
· Familiar with and/or ability to manage computer programs related to MSN clinical programs
· Pass pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law Minimum Education MSN Preferred Education Doctorate
