Job Description

The Senior Director of the Sister Thea Bowman Center for Women:

Is a leader within the Mission Office with supervisory responsibility for three areas (Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy, Mission Engagement and Mentoring, Damietta Cross-cultural Center.

Mentors, networks, exchange knowledge and fosters the development of women leaders at Siena through the Franciscan Tradition and Catholic identity of Siena College.

Establishes opportunities for lifelong skills development that position women to achieve leadership success and empower both women and men to enact social change.

Develops the self-understanding and spirituality of women within themselves and in the pursuit of a more just, humane and peaceable world.

Collaborates with campus partners to cultivate an environment in which Siena College addresses the gender-based assumptions and advocates for policy changes, leading to a better and equal society.

Job Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of gender issues, college gender issues in particular. Ability to work closely with and manage student and administrative staff. Knowledge of leading a Women's Center within the Franciscan tradition and Catholic identity of Siena College and our core values. Knowledge of the Franciscan tradition and the ability to communicate clearly to the campus community the values of Siena College.  The ability to lead and develop the authenticity and spirituality community members is important.  The understanding of the developmental needs of young adults as they mature.  A Master’s degree and three or more years of relevant experience is required.  A background screening is required.
