Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Center for Wellness and Counseling is committed to assisting each student reach their full potential, while fostering the institution’s mission of providing a transformative liberal arts education for intellectually curious students in a collaborative, academically vibrant residential community that values a diverse world. The Associate Dean/Director serves as a key member of the Student Affairs leadership team and is responsible for the overall mission, vision, and direction of the Wellness and Counseling Center.
  • Provide oversight and develop a strategic vision for all aspects of Health, Wellness, and Counseling Center. Provide short-term counseling and oversee the day to day activities in the Counseling Center. Provide crisis intervention and emergency coverage 24/7 for students and give support to faculty and staff.
  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team of Student Affairs. Supervision of the Associate Director for Health Administration, Assistant Director for Counseling, Staff Clinicians, Outreach Coordinator and Case Manager, and Office Manager.
  • Develop a comprehensive health and wellness program for the college community. Lead the department in developing comprehensive assessments for services and capturing the student experience, including the development of learning outcomes on Health and Wellness. Oversee and maintain compliance standards with federal and state regulations.
  • Serve as a member of the CARE Team, Behavioral Intervention Team, Medical Leave Committee, Meal Plan Exemption Committee. Serve on other College committees as appropriate.
  • Establish effective working relationships with other campus offices and departments to ensure quality services for the campus community. These offices include but are not limited to Academic Advising, Campus Safety, Dining Services, Information Technology, Title IX, and Academic Departments.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling and a minimum of five years of experience, including both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a college counseling center or similar setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Independent Licensure as a LMHC, LICW, PsyD, or Psychiatric NP is required.
  • Previous experience with and understanding of the health and wellness related issues that are common in college-aged populations and college settings.
