Job Description

The department is seeking a motivated Content & Knowledge Strategist that is passion about helping colleagues, customers, and understands user experience and learning design principles.  This individual will own department content design and roadmap for improving content delivery and internal knowledge base by developing, managing and delivering in-person and digital onboarding and continued professional development training materials.

 

This position will focus on designing a competency-based curriculum and digital delivery strategy for the department business processes, policies, etc.  The ideal candidate should be learner-centric, proactive, passionate about designing objective-learning experiences and have an interest in advancing the knowledge base for those within the department.

 

Salary Range

$61,625-$85,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Delivers a competency-based curriculum, learning experience to meet the needs of specific audiences.
  • Works with subject matter experts and identifies content strategy
  • Maintains documentation.
  • Works with Department Training following the ADDIE model: Instructional Design.
  • Designs in-person and digital delivery strategy for pre-award and financial management.
  • Builds strong relationships and feedback loops to help inform content development and improve existing knowledge bases.
  • Selects, designs and implements appropriate instructional methods such as individual training, hands-on training, group training, hybrid training to meet the needs of specific audiences.
  • Partners with department management and other stakeholders to develop, prioritize training needs to drive business outcomes and team success.
  • Responsible for reporting and analytics of training for department management presentations.
  • Assume or coordinate other duties or projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND five (5) years of related administrative experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR, Nine (9) years of related administrative experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in analytical and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pre-award and post-award, financial business processes.
  • Evidence of a proven track record of solving complex problems. Takes initiative.
  • Able to research and grasp emerging technologies content quickly.
  • Experience in facilitating virtual training sessions/classes.
  • Experience in project management (managing time, establishing priorities, distributing milestones and deliverables) in an environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with and staff in a higher education or research administration environment.
  • Evidence of effective communication.

 

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%) Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%) Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.; Receives managerial review of assignments for adherence to established objectives and goals Provides regular daily review of work activities to staff to ensure compliance with established standards.

 

Flexible work options: 

  • Alternative work schedules can include four, 10-hour workdays in a workweek; a nine-day, 80-hour schedule over two workweeks for exempt employees only; and staggered start and stop times.
  • Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
  • Remote work is an arrangement where the employee spends less than 60% of their regular workweek at a regularly assigned ASU work location. Executive vice president-level approval is required.
  • Climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer;
  • bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties.
  • Ability to interpret complex sponsor regulations. 
  • Expected to be responsive to customers, engaged in work production, resourceful, flexible, and respectful of others.
