IT Infrastructure Engineering
University of Tennessee, Chattanooga
The IT Administrator deploys and manages campus telephony systems; manages and deploys customized phone solutions to departments and users; is responsible for the administration of various infrastructure servers and account management; and serves as a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team.
Primary Responsibilities:
System Administration
- Manages call managers, session mangers, system manager, telecom billing system, call center systems, mobility, and session border controllers
- Independently analyzes and solves complex technical problems in telephony systems and the data center
- Develops, implements, and supports projects that satisfy a variety of user needs
- Fulfills service requests for listed telephony systems
- Accountable for the performance of call management systems
- Uses innovative solutions to solve problems and modifies solutions when competing policies are present
- Fundamental in the development and implementation of VOIP
- Works as a project team member under direction and support of senior
- Supports the design and implementation of systems in the infrastructure space
- Manages licenses for purchased products and software
- Follows and creates documentation (e.g., instructions, configurations, best practices, service information)
- Advanced knowledge of telephony systems and engineering
- Expert level ability to understand how systems are inter‐related
- Ability to define business requirements, often with limited information
- Ability to successfully lead teams and projects
- Ability to mentor and provide work direction
Minimum Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in relevant field and two years relevant IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Three years of relevant IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience are preferred.
