Brief Description of Duties

The Assistant Coordinator of Employment Outreach is a part-time position for the Federal Work Study’s Job Location and Development Program in the Office of Career Services. This position is responsible for providing employment outreach services to a network of employers and recruiters to develop job opportunities for students. This position is also responsible for coordinating employment events and programs for students in partnership with employers, partners, faculty, and staff. Reporting to the Associate Director of Career Services or the designee, the Assistant Coordinator of Employment Outreach has duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the Federal Work Study’s Job Location and Development Program.
  • Outreach and communicate employment opportunities and career services via meetings, email, phone, social media, and other methods to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and build employment partnerships with employers and partners through strategic outreach, meetings, presentations, and other methods.
  • Develop job opportunities in collaboration with employers and partners as well as faculty and staff.
  • Coordinate employment events and programs such as career fairs, employer information sessions, interview sessions, career programs, and other related events.
  • Facilitate and implement comprehensive targeted surveys to collect employment and continuing studies outcomes data from students.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate career-based student learning outcomes and employment opportunities into classroom and cocurricular experiences.
  • Meet with internal and external clients including students, alumni, faculty, staff, employers, recruiters, and community partners.
  • Assist with the management of the career management system, first destination survey system, and other systems to collect and document service outcomes.
  • Represent the office and university at internal and external committees, meetings, and events which may require travel between campuses and off-site locations.
  • Report program and service outcomes utilizing qualitative and quantitative data analysis to share office effectiveness with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Completed an associate degree or higher; preferably an associate degree or higher in administration, business, communications, education, industrial relations, management, public relations, or closely related field.
  • Completed at least two (2) years of related work experience; preferably with college students and alumni.
  • Proficiency with client information systems; preferably with Banner.
  • Proficiency with career management systems or client relation systems; preferably with Handshake.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Teams, and other software.
  • Proficiency with technology including computers, copiers, printers, scanners, faxes, telephones, projectors, and other technologies.
  • Able to travel between multiple campuses and off-site locations.

Condition of Employment:
This is a sponsored program appointment. The duration of this appointment is subject to grant fund availability.

Collective Bargaining Unit (Non-Union): This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.

E mployment Benefits: Depending upon length of appointment, selectee may or may not be eligible for full benefits such as health and life insurance, annual (vacation) and sick leave and will be covered under the University of the District of Columbia’s retirement plan (TIAA).

Background Investigation: Employment with the University of the District of Columbia is contingent upon a satisfactory background investigation. The determination of a 'satisfactory background investigation' is made at the sole discretion of the University of the District of Columbia.
