The Veterans Office is seeking a Veterans School Certifying Official (Student Life Specialist). The Veteran School Certifying Official (SCO) serves as primary contact for both Departments of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Defense (DOD).  Works closely with the Associate Director of Veterans Support Services, Veterans Academic Advisor, and cross departmental team to efficiently administer educational benefits to 180+ military connected students at Queens College. Additional tasks include but are not limited to: Advising campus leadership on issues to include regulations governing the various GI Bill certification procedures, enrollment monitoring procedures, and organizational suggestions to enhance services for military connected students; Work in partnership with the Bursar and Financial Aid offices to assign appropriate anticipated VA awards in PeopleSoft for Post 9-11, Veterans Readiness and Employment, and TA recipients.  Collaborates to resolve any issues and processing of VA debt letters related to student withdrawals from classes; Acting as a liaison between VA Veterans Readiness and Employment Specialist and Veterans with disabilities.
